Bob Haro old school BMX ride out
Posted on September 09 2015
Did you join us in London for the California Collection launch? Legendary BMX freestyler Bob Haro did and the video of our joint ride out has just been published.
We were joined on a sunny July day in the capital by an impressive number of Bob Haro fans and their pristine old school BMXs. UK Flatland Champion and Guinness World Record Holder Matti Hemmings came along for the ride too, wowing the audience with his impressive flat land skills both on the street and at the Hoxton Gallery.
Check out the Bob Haro ride out and California Collection launch in the video below.
The ride out took place before the official launch of the Cool Flo California Collection, which includes tees, stickers, surf wax and more. Two of the shirts in the new collection, exclusive to Cool Flo, feature photos from Bob Haro’s personal collection. The first tee is a behind-the-scenes shot from Spielberg's E.T. feature film where Bob played a crucial part in the creating the famous BMX chase scene. The second tee shows Bob Haro riding at the Del Mar Skate Ranch. Both are limited runs.
Cool Flo founder’s the Carter Bros. say, “working alongside Bob is a dream come true for us here at Cool Flo. Bob’s life experiences and expertise, whether it be starring in E.T all those years ago, travelling the world with BMX or his sensational design works at Haro design, is all a complete inspiration to us. He’s truly inspired us to take the Cool Flo brand forward with some exciting new products specifically designed for our California Collection and we see Bob becoming a huge part of this.”
Bob Haro says, “it’s great to be on board with the Carter Bros. from Cool Flo once again. Their energy and work ethic on the Cool Flo brand is contagious… They’re a real pleasure to be working with.”
Talking about the launch day itself, the Carter Bros. commented, “the day was just awesome thanks to everyone that turned up to enjoy the momentous experience of riding old school BMX alongside a true legend. Even E.T himself joined us up front on a Kuwahara! At times we had to do a double take to check it was all actually happening. It was a truly unforgettable day for us and we hope those who joined us felt the same way too.”
We’d like to thank Bob Haro once again for teaming up with us for the California Collection launch. And for taking the time to sign so many caps, shirts, arms, prints and bikes on the day. And of course a huge thanks goes to our friends and family that attended the launch day. As always, your support makes it possible, and with old school BMX culture going from strength to strength it’s a great circle to be involved with.
We look forward to the next Cool Flo event coming to you soon. Or perhaps this ride out could this become an annual event with Bob Haro joining us from California each year? Why not…
